Early in December Croeso Photography ended up at the Swiss Valley Reservoir, Llanelli. We were supposed to be in Carmarthen but when passing the reservoir we’d spotted that the water was incredibly still and that the reflections of the trees looked incredible. This was our first visit to this location so we had no idea what to expect.
Each and every turn along the path produced a better and better reflection of the trees on the water. The one below for example actually works either way up which demonstrates just how still the water was.
Further around the reservoir is a little building which gave yet more fantastic reflections and a bit more interest to the scene.
The reservoir is a fabulous location for photos and even more so for just having a walk. You will need walking boots as the paths through the forest areas are a tad muddy (and occasionally a little slippy). One thing we didn’t realise was that there are two reservoirs – the Upper Lliedi reservoir and Lower Lliedi reservoir. This means we will definitely have to return!
Whilst I do love the reflections not many shots made the final selection for a Flickr Set. The reason for this was that they were quite samey – there was also little cloud interest so the scenes in my view are missing that little extra. Mind you it was a wonderful view and a treat to catch some wonderful reflections of the reservoir.
