Shooting Vampires At Pembrey

On Sunday 8th February I was lucky enough to be invited to Pembrey Country Park to shoot vampires! Creative Arts Wales were holding a photoshoot and wanted images to help promote an up and coming event that they’re planning. They wanted a selection of images using their models and were happy for members of Llanelli Photographic Society to come along and help.

The shoot was in the Pembrey Country Park tunnels – which meant jumping out of my comfort zone. Up to now I’ve not done that much photography with off camera flash or models. However after a quick tutorial it was simply a case of get stuck in and hopefully produce some decent images. Some of which you can see below!

I’m pretty pleased with the results. There’s been some tweaks in Lightroom 5 but nothing in Photoshop. I hope to have a play with one or two of the shots at a later date and see if I can improve things.

The whole experience was good – although it did help having my wife as an assistant. She held the flash for me at various angles/positions and that did help in getting some of the shadows. It also helped that the models – Spencer, Amy, Kiefer and Caviar were all great and really got involved with the process.

It was a fun day and hopefully they’ll be a few more shoots in the future.
